What we’re building
Miroir is a curated marketplace of mobile beauty artists across Australia. We do three things: vet artistsso you don’t have to, handle the boring parts (calendars, payments, no-show policies), and get out of the way so the artist can do their job.
We’d rather stay small and genuinely selective than pad a directory. Quality over volume, always.
What “vetted” actually means
It’s an easy word to put on a website, so here is ours in full. Every artist goes through the same three steps before they appear anywhere on Miroir.
- We look at their work.Not one lucky photo — a consistent body of recent work, and whether the skin still looks like skin.
- We ask about the craft.What’s in their kit, how they handle different skin tones and textures, and how they treat the people they sit with.
- A person presses publish. Approval and going live are two separate decisions here. A profile only becomes public once someone has read it end to end.
What we’re not
We’re not a directory. We’re not a lead-gen scheme that buries artists behind paywalls. We’re not trying to be the biggest. We’d rather be the one you’d send your closest friend to.
How we make money
Miroir takes a flat 15% commission on each booking, and nothing else. Artists set their own prices and keep the rest, paid out automatically after the appointment. There are no listing fees, no subscriptions, no paying to appear higher in the results, and no booking fee added to what you pay as a customer.
We’re saying that plainly because the alternative — platforms where the ranking is quietly for sale — is the exact thing Miroir was built to get away from.
Where we’re from
Based in Brisbane, and open across Australia. Our roster is deepest in South East Queensland, where we started, and we’re growing city by city — adding artists when we find ones worth expanding for, not to fill a map.
