1. The agreement
By applying to join Miroir as an artist, or by accepting bookings through the platform, you agree to these Artist Terms and to our Terms of Service. If the two conflict on a point that concerns artists, these Artist Terms apply. Your agreement is with Miroir Beauty, a registered business name of Hengky Saputra (ABN 46 846 631 526), a sole trader trading as “Miroir” from Brisbane, QLD.
2. Your relationship with Miroir
- You are an independent contractor running your own business. Nothing in these terms creates an employment, partnership, or agency relationship.
- You set your own prices, services, availability, and service areas, and you can change them at any time.
- Miroir is not exclusive. You can take work anywhere else, including your own direct clients. Bookings made outside Miroir never attract a Miroir fee.
- New artist profiles are reviewed before going live on the public roster. We may decline or unpublish a profile that doesn’t meet our standards.
3. Commission & fees
- Miroir’s commission is a flat 15% per booking, deducted from your payout, unless we agree a different rate with you in writing. It applies to services and add-ons.
- Any travel fee on a booking is passed to you in full — we take no commission on travel.
- There are no other fees. No signup fee, no subscription, no listing fee, and no payment-processing fees on standard bookings — card costs come out of our share, not yours.
- On a commission-free booking (a referral or welcome credit), Miroir waives its commission entirely and deducts only the card-processing cost (currently about 1.75% + $0.30 per charge for domestic cards; a deposit booking settles as two charges), so Miroir earns nothing on that booking.
4. Payments & payouts
- Customers pay Miroir at booking — in full, or a 30% deposit with the balance charged automatically about 48 hours before the appointment. You never handle payment on the day.
- Funds are held by Miroir and your payout is released after the appointment takes place, then paid to your bank through Stripe Connect (typically about 2 business days after release).
- You need a Stripe Connect account (set up during onboarding) and valid bank details to receive payouts.
- Your dashboard shows the payout for every booking before you accept it, and your earnings over time.
5. Cancellations, refunds & no-shows
- If a customer cancels more than 7 days before the appointment, they are refunded in full and no payout is due to you.
- If a customer cancels within 7 days of the appointment, the booking is non-refundable to the customer and your payout stands — that window exists to protect the time you reserved.
- If you cancel a booking, the customer is refunded in full and no payout is due to you. Cancel only when you genuinely must: repeated or late cancellations harm customers and can lead to suspension.
- If a service dispute is raised (see the Terms of Service), we may pause the payout for that booking while we work it out with you and the customer.
6. Invoicing, GST & tax
- The service contract is between you and the customer. The customer’s invoice is issued in your name and, where you’ve provided it, under your ABN — Miroir generates it on your behalf from your business details in Settings.
- If you are registered for GST, keep that setting up to date so your invoices show GST correctly as a tax invoice.
- You are responsible for your own tax, GST, superannuation, and business registrations. Miroir does not withhold tax from payouts.
7. Your profile & content
- Keep your profile accurate: services, prices, kit list, service areas, and travel fees. Customers book on the strength of what your profile says.
- You own the photos and content you upload. You grant Miroir a licence to display them on the platform and in Miroir marketing that features your profile. You confirm you have the right to share what you upload (including client photos).
- You are responsible for holding any insurance, qualifications, or licences appropriate to your work, and for kit hygiene to professional standard.
8. Reviews
- Customers can review completed bookings. We moderate review content (abuse, discrimination, irrelevant or false claims) but never edit or remove a review because of its star rating.
- You can post one public reply to any review of your work.
- Consistently poor ratings may prompt a quality conversation with us; they never trigger automatic suspension.
9. Referral program
- Every artist has a personal invite link. When an artist you invite joins and their first booking is paid, you earn a commission-free booking credit. Credits stack with no cap.
- The artist you invite also starts with one commission-free welcome booking.
- Credits apply automatically to your next eligible booking. On those bookings only card-processing costs are deducted (see section 3).
- We may adjust or close the referral program for future bookings; credits already earned are honoured.
10. Conduct & standards
- Arrive on time, with the kit listed in your profile, and provide the service to the standard of a competent professional.
- Customers agree in their terms to provide a safe, sober environment. If you feel unsafe at an appointment you may leave and must report it to us — you’ll be supported, and safety reports never count against you.
- Treat customers with respect. Harassment, discrimination, or dangerous behaviour ends the relationship with Miroir.
11. Suspension & termination
We can suspend or close an artist account that breaches these terms, poses a safety risk, or repeatedly lets customers down. You can close your account any time from Settings — bookings already confirmed still need to be honoured or properly cancelled, and payouts owed to you are still paid.
12. Liability
You are responsible for the services you deliver. To the extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, Miroir is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that can’t be excluded under Australian law.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material — commission, fees, or payout mechanics — we’ll email you at least 14 days before it takes effect.
14. Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Questions: legal@miroir.au.
